कोविशील्ड के साथ भी ऐसा ही है। वैक्सीन की adjuvant कम पड़ रही है। एडजुवंट यानी वह द्रव्य जिसमें वैक्सीन के सक्रिय तत्व मिलाए जाते हैं। यह द्रव्य भारत को अमेरिका से मिलने की उम्मीद थी परंतु अमेरिका में पर्याप्त स्टॉक रहने के बाद भी अपनी भविष्य की जरूरत की संभावनाओं को देखते हुए देने से इंकार कर दिया। अदर पूनावाला ने कई चिट्ठियां लिखीं परंतु बात नहीं बनी। अब अमेरिका adjuvant देने को तैयार हुआ है।
यह इकलौता कारण नहीं है। जितनी जरूरत है उतने बड़े पैमाने पर टीका का उत्पादन करने में और भी लॉजिस्टिक समस्याएं हैं। छोटा उदाहरण लेते हैं तो जिस शीशी में टीका भरा जाता है वह शीशी उसके ढक्कन और उसे पैक करने की मशीन भी अपनी क्षमता के अनुसार ही काम कर पाएगी।
बड़े कारण भी हैं परंतु इतना समझ लीजिए कि अभी कुछ दिन बड़े पैमाने पर उत्पादन बढ़ाना संभव नहीं। तैयारियां चल रही हैं और भविष्य में उत्पादन में बड़ा उछाल आएगा।
