HMD Global launch new Nokia Dumb Phone Series 30+

HMD Global is the new owners of the Nokia name, launch their first device today: the Nokia 150. But don’t get too excited yet.

It’s a Series 30+ dumb phone that looks almost identical to the Nokia 216. That debuted back in September (which was notably Microsoft’s last Nokia device.)

HMD Global, the Finnish company that owns the rights to use the Nokia brand on mobile phones. Announced its first new products on Dec 13. Two basic handsets without Internet access priced at US$26 (RM115.40) before local taxes and subsidies.

HMD said the Nokia 150 and Nokia 150 Dual SIM would go on sale in selected markets early next year.

The basic phone business currently makes most of its sales in India, elsewhere in Asia and eastern Europe.

The new Nokia 150 has been priced at $26 and features a 2.4-inch screen and a VGA camera.

The phone with its whopping 22 hours of battery life, reminds us of the times. When the charge would last for a long long time.

The phone will be manufacture by Foxconn’s subsidiary FIH.

It had acquired the Nokia feature phone department from Microsoft in May. And for the business in IMEA, PAC and Europe’s distribution in 2017.

The features of the phone, like the FM radio and MP3 player. Along with games like ‘Snake’ and Nitro Racing, provides some kind of deeply-rooted nostalgia.

The company expects that India will play an important role in Nokia’s ‘next phase of journey’ in a market dominated by Samsung and Apple.
