How To Install Free SSL Certificate Using CPanel

before installing SSL certificate let’s know what is SSL certificate and why it is important to every website.

What is SSL Certificate?

In simple words, SSL is a green padlock which you can see on your browsers navigation bar. You have already seen many websites with SSL this means that data transmitted by the website is secure.

SSL Certificates are small data files that digitally bind a cryptographic key to an organization’s details. When installed on a web server, it activates the padlock and the https protocol (over port 443) and allows secure connections from a web server to a browser. Typically, SSL is used to secure credit card transactions, data transfer, and logins, and more recently is becoming the norm when securing browsing of social media sites.

Why is SSL Important?

SSL helps us to protect sensitive information between our computer and the servers. Using SSL the information sent to the servers become encrypted and no one can steal your information. From 2017 Google also started showing “Not Secure” on the sites which are not using SSL.

SSL is important because –

  • SSL Provides Authentication
  • SSL Encryptes Private Information
