New Bajaj Chetak Electric Scooter Features Specs and Price Details

Bajaj Chetak is back with Electric scooter version. New Bajaj Chetak electric scooter will be launched in India in January 2020. But, initially, the sales will start in Pune and Bengaluru. The new Chetak electric marks the re-entry of Bajaj Auto in the country’s scooter segment. Well, Bajaj has resurrected the scooter and it now runs on electricity!

Prices range           

Chetak electric scooter will be priced in the range of Rs 90,000 and Rs 1.5 lakh.

Motor and Battery

The new Chetak will reportedly be powered by a 4kW electric motor. It will have an IP67-rated lithium-ion battery, which can be charged through a standard 5-15 amp electrical outlet. Bajaj Auto has also said that it will provide a home-charging station at a nominal cost.

Bajaj’s new Chetak e-scooter comes with range of 85 km on sports mode and 95 km on eco mode on a single charge of around 5 hours.

Specifications

The new electric Bajaj Chetak will have a tubular single-sided suspension at the front and a monoshock at the rear. Also present will be a single-sided cast aluminum swing arm.

There will be a disc up front, while the rear will have a drum brake. The electric scooter will make use of 12-inch wheels. It will come with a regenerative braking system.

Features

The new Chetak electric scooter will have an all-metal body. Interestingly, there will no Bajaj branding on Chetak. Other features include digital console, horseshoe-shaped LED headlight with DRLs and sequential scrolling LED blinkers. There will be a mobile app to assist the rider.

The Bajaj Chetak scooter will also have features to protect it from theft and the owner will get notifications in case of an accident or unauthorized access.

Export plans

The company’s Chakan plant, Bajaj Auto also plans to export the model to various relevant markets in Europe from next year itself.
