Architecture of Lakhta Center complex in St. Petersburg Russia. That is one of the under construction project with one of the Europe’s tallest structure. A new area in Lakhta – a large-scale project of the construction of a modern business area in the north-west of Saint Petersburg. The project builds upon a balanced approach to the creation of an urban environment combining modern architecture, innovative engineering solutions and a considerate attitude towards nature.

A modern mini-city with the headquarters of Gazprom neft and other Gazprom group companies in the center will be built outside the urban area in Primorsky district of Saint Petersburg, at the exit from the city between the Gulf of Finland and Primorskoye highway.

Lakhta Center is a large mixed-use non-residential construction project in Saint Petersburg, Russia.

When the project was still planned for its original site next to the historical center of St. Petersburg.

Lakhta Center is planned to include the first super tall skyscraper in the city, a scientific and educational complex, sports and leisure facilities, and an outdoor amphitheater.

Construction of Gazprom’s 463-meter tall Lakhta Center complex in St. Petersburg will begin in October, the head of the Gazprom subsidiary in charge of the project said.

The site is nine kilometers from the city center. An earlier proposal to build in downtown St. Petersburg, at Okhta Cape.

Construction is scheduled for completion in the spring of 2018.

High-rise Design Brief:

Bobkov did not specify the overall price tag for the project, but said each square meter is expected to cost $2,500-$3,500, much less than the estimated 60 billion rubles ($1.9 billion) to build at the Okhta site.

Main Features of the Lakhta Center :-

Panoramic restaurant, cafe

Panoramic restaurant will be situated on the height of 330m and high speed elevators will bring visitors to this height less than in a minute.

Besides panoramic restaurants there will be other cafes and restaurants in the complex.

Children’s scientific center and museum

Center of Recreational Science with total area of more than 7000 square meters will be situated in the Lakhta Center’s North and South buildings.

The concept of the Center of Recreational Science was worked out in collaboration with specialists from the University of information technologies, mechanics and optics.

In the South Building it is planned to place an exploratory type exposition with interactive showpieces.

Exposition will be divided to the zones organized according to the participants’ age. In the North building there will be a scientific center.

These two centers are to be connected by the bridge.

Hotel

Hotel will be located in the south part of the complex right near the tower.

Along with 200 rooms it will include a number of conference halls which will be constructed and equipped to meet all the requirements of holding modern public events.

Conference halls’ interiors will be selected from projects of young architects participating in the “Archichance” contest. 100 people will be employed by the hotel.

Multifunctional auditorium

Multifunctional auditorium is designed to be right for holding both business and entertaining events.

It will be possible to use the auditorium as one big hall or to transform it in to two smaller ones.

Design of the auditorium makes it possible to regulate the height of walls and seating’s, remove or add seating places.

Planetarium

Planetarium is to be in the upper part of the building which directly sides the tower.

Planetarium capacity is 140 people. Place will be equipped with up-to-date optic instruments and computers.

Cinema

Cinema with the total area of 2600 square meters will consist of five cinema halls of different capacity.

There will be two standard cinema halls for the audience of 130-150 people, one small hall of 49 seats and one VIP hall with 53 chairs.

It is also planned to build a 3D cinema hall. Cinema will be equipped with its own high-speed elevators.

Observation deck

Free public observation desk will be located at the uppermost floor of the tower, at the 378m height.

The deck will be construct with 360 degree viewing angle and is to be equipped with modern telescopes.

The deck is planned to be open for visitors in the daytime as well as at night.
